Christopher Jones - Extended Reference

BACKGROUND
Christopher Jones never fails to see himself as a victim.
This has more than likely stemmed from a long life of that actually being the case.
Chris came from a very wealthy family
When he first entered the public school system...well... it would be a vast understatement to say that he was socially inept. Prior to the 8th grade, Chris had been home schooled by a private tutor. It was only through several tantrums and a few screaming matches with his father that he finally got to attend public school.
It can at least be said that Chris tried very hard to make friends that first year. He was corrigible, sweet, and tried his damnedest, but for all his efforts, he just had little concept of social nuances. He made a fool of himself regularly, and his brutal honestly rubbed many people the wrong way. The fact that his IQ was at least 60 points higher than anyone around him and that he was an effortlessly straight A student did not win him many friends. He was just a lonely, awkward kid.
He garnered a few friends by 9th grade and, at their constant behest, invited them over to his house.
These friends wasted no time before starting to use him for his family’s wealth and word got around. Seemingly, things were better now as most everyone was suddenly treating him very well. He even had a few girlfriends.
It took time, but Chris learned a lot about ‘friends’ that year and came to decide they were only trouble.
The more he came to realize how the people around him were using him… what they really thought of him… the more bitter he became. He became bitter and venomous and shoved everyone away.
Even as bad as things became, even with his air of naivety gone, he was too stubborn to admit that his father had been right when they first argued. He shouldered it all and toughed his way through high school.
College was a new world. Chaucer U. had a lot of blue-bloods, but Chris never flaunted his family’s money again. He managed to meet a girl and make some friends in his first year, but these relationships ended as brutally as the first.
Chris these days is worse than before. It’s become his nature to lash out at anyone who is friendly to him, He is just a cold, sarcastic, mean, whiney, brat with a very high IQ.
No one that knows anything about him pays any attention to him anymore besides Jason Devereux, his roommate of 2 years.
Despite Chris’ very best efforts to make an ass of himself, Devereux won’t give up on trying to befriend him.
